The moment we have been graciously waiting for(atleast me). It’s here. Google has announced the next major android release Android 5.0 codenamed Lollipop. As speculated there were two devices to accompany the sweet candy release, the Nexus 6 and the Nexus 9.
The nexus 6 is the first ever nexus phablet made by motorola. The design takes inspiration ffrom the Moto X released recently. As far the speccs are concerned, the nexus 6 runs on a Snapdragon 805 with four krait 450 cores clocked at 2.66 GHz alongside 3GB of RAM. The device comes with a stunning 5.9inch QHD display with pixel density of 493ppi.
The powerhouse comes from a 3220mAh battery. Google says it supports Turbo charging, which allows you to get upto 6 hours of battery life with just 15mins of charging and a full charge can run through a whole day. The phone has a 13mp back snapper with Optical Image Stabilisation and 2mp front facing camera for video calling. The nexus 6 runs on the latest Android 5.0 lollipop and would retail at $649 for 32gb sim free version.
It will be available in two colours Midnight Blue and Cloud White. If you are looking out for extra storage there is a 64gb version too. Sorry no SD slot again.
The nexus 9 on the other hand is a beautiful and elagant tablet from the hands of HTC. The tablet has a 9″ IPS LCD with a resolution of 2048*1440. It runs on a 64-bit Nvidia Tegra K1 with a most anticipated kepler DX1 GPU. The camera department is taken care by a 8mp back and a 1.5mp front facing camera.
There is front facing BoomSound stereo speakers and 6,700 mAh battery to keep things going on. Although no information is available on how long the tablet lasts until your next charge, we are eagerly waiting for the battery tests to complete.
There is also a optional keyboard accessory which magnetically attaches to the back of your nexus. Available in three colours black, beige and white, the slate is expected to go on sale on 3rd of November. Pricing is yet to be confirmed.
